Done with the Reading
I finished Of Mice and Men and Animal Farm last week. We were on vacation, so I did not have access to a computer. Both of the classics were really good, but I found Of Mice and Men better. I did not like the ending of either book, and in both books I did not like that people/animals were taken advantage of. However, I am glad to be done. Well, I haven’t done the Reader’s Responses on the 2 books because my computer hasn’t been working. Now, it is fixed and I can finish. Out of the classics, I like To Kill a Mockingbird the best. I learned more from this book, and it was just a good story overall. Now, I have to worry about getting all my stuff together for school. I can’t believe we only have a week left.
Done with To Kill a Mockingbird
I just finished To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I really enjoyed the book and think that it teaches a lot of life lessons that everyone could take something from. It seemed to be a really easy read. During a study of characteristics of southern litereature, Mr. Petty showed us the movie and made us right an essay on on the different asspects of southern literature that correlated with the story. That really helped me understand all the different views that Harper Lee put in the book. I really enjoyed the book and would advise anyone to read it.
Finally Finished!
I just recently finished the book Pendragon Book Nine: Raven Rise. It was an AMAZING book! During the whole book, it seemed as if nothing could go right. Everything was turning to chaos, and sometimes I just didn’t want to read it. However, things got better. It got to where I couldn’t put the book down. I was sure that things would end with everything working out perfectly, but once again, I was wrong. As I neared the end, I found out that there were several betrayals and a group of about 70,000 people were killed for standing up for what they believed in. Then, in the last chapter of the book, a group of eleven people called the “Travelers” banded together and are planning to stop Saint Dane, their enemy, in the final book. That ending made the whole book better. Now, I am planning to read To Kill a Mockingbird.
The book I want to read…
The book I have been wanting to read for a long time is Pendragon Book Nine: Raven Rise by D.J. MacHale. It is part of a series of ten books. I have read the first eight, and they are some of the best books I have ever read. Currently, this book is making me very angry because everything is going wrong. I am about a fourth of the way through the book right now, and I hope it gets better. The other books I am looking at to read are To Kill a Mockingbird, A Separate Peace, and Of Mice and Men.
Just Starting??
I’ve never blogged before, and I really am not sure what exactly I am suppost to do. I’ve never done an assignment like this and I’m not sure if I will be doing exactly what is expected, but I will try my best to blog and do my reader’s responses. I am excited about reading some of the books off the list, but I do not know if I will enjoy a few of them. I do look forward to reading a book of my choice, because I have been wanting to read this certain book for a long time.
